Project aboard
We propose to take the new heat flow measurement system to sea for testing under typical field conditions, including: oceanic water depths (2.5-3.0 km), a mixture of seafloor sediment types (hemipelagic clay, sandy turbidites), using the standard trawl system with UNOLS 3/19 wire, managing the system on deck before and after deployment, running the system for shorter and longer surveys (to assess available battery power and turn around operations), and real-time data telemetry
