Project aboard

Deploy and recover oceanographic surface moorings, profilers and gliders for the Ocean Observatories Initiative (OOI) Coastal Endurance Array. Seven surface moorings will be deployed and recovered over the shelf and slope of central Oregon and central Washington. Up to four profiler moorings will be deployed and recovered over the shelf of central Oregon and central Washington. Up to six gliders will be deployed and recovered off the coasts of central Oregon and Washington. The moorings, profilers and gliders include multidisciplinary sensors taking multiyear time series as part of OOI. During the cruise, the ship will aslo acquire data for validation of these sensors (underway oceanographic and meteorological data, CTD and auxiliary sensor profile data and CTD rosette bottle samples.
