Project aboard

We will conduct 10m2 and 1m2 MOCNESS tows across epipelagic, mesopelagic, and upper-bathypelagic depths, sampling zooplankton and micronekton organisms and examining diel vertical migration patterns in the Southern California Bight. We will conduct paired day-night tows within stations and examine biomass and community composition. The proposed operations will also support ongoing co-training of early-career students and scientists in preparation and use of MOCNESS and LVPKI system(s).
