Project aboard
Methane seeps affect the geology, ecology, and chemistry of the near-seafloor environment. We will investigate newly-discovered methane seeps along the slope of the northern US Atlantic Margin. We will describe and study the characteristics, biogeochemistry, and evolution over the geological time of seeps along two representative transects extending from the shelf edge to the continental rise.
