Project aboard
The Rhode Island Teachers at Sea Program offers a unique experience to Rhode Island K-12 teachers. The teachers participate in the deployment and recovery of oceanographic instrumentation (CTD, multicore, plankton nets) and work with the samples in the lab. There are discussions regarding the equipment as well as the samples. The teachers then discuss how they would use this knowledge in their classroom. In particular, they discuss how the same concepts would be delivered to the different levels (K- 12).
