Project aboard
This cruise will focus on measuring the outflow plume from San Diego Bay through a series of CTD stations, VMP tow-yos, ADCP transects, and surface drifters. The purpose of this is to give students in SIO 176 the opportunity to experience how measurements are collected aboard a research vessel and test/deploy sensors that they have either built or programed. The students will play an active role in designing the field experiment, choosing the sampling stations and measurements as part of their project.
