Project aboard
We would like to introduce the students to oceanographic techniques: plankton net tow, mid-water and bottom trawling, soft sediment multi-corer, and Van Veen grab as well as whale and seabird observations and basic ship operations. Data from the sampling is generated by the students and used for an assessable biodiversity exercise. Specimens are also archived into the SIO Collections.
