Project aboard

Our program will measure physical oceanographic and acoustic quantities near the Atlantis II seamounts in order to better understand i) mixed-layer dynamics; ii) turbulence and vertical motions due to tidal and mean flows past the seamounts and iii) ambient noise and acoustic propagation. We will measure the oceanographic quantities from the ship with our Fast CTD and epsilometer winched profilers, and by deploying several profiling moorings. Dr. Hodgkiss will simultaneously deploy his acoustic source and billboard receive array.
